Relaxing Backwoods Cabin on the SolDuc River – Best Waterfront Cabin in Washington State

If you’re looking for a cozy waterfront cabin near Washington State — the Backwoods Cabin is just perfect!
My boyfriend and I stayed here last summer and had a fantastic time. The gorgeous cabin is nestled on a couple’s private ranch overlooking the serene SolDuc River, with an ideal location close to everything in the Olympic peninsula.
You’ll also have access to the entire property, including lush fields, hiking trails, and the river for swimming and fishing.
However, nothing beats the cabin’s interiors — featuring two beautiful bedrooms, a cozy living space facing the ranch, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a lovely terrace. We especially enjoyed cooking meals on the BBQ, eating outdoors on the patio, and exploring the peaceful property.
In addition, the host couple, Pura and Chuck, are amazing folks and take great care of you during your stay.
So make your Washington getaway special with a relaxing weekend at the Backwoods Cabin. Here’s why we consider it one of the best:
- The amenities: You will enjoy all the modern living facilities from this cabin, including bed and bath essentials, complimentary toiletries and cooking basics, a wood-burning fireplace and TV in the living room, comfortable outdoor seating, a rustic fire pit on the outdoor area, and more.
- The location: The cabin has a completely secluded location on a live ranch, with private river frontage, and proximity to attractions in the Olympic peninsula, such as Forks, Olympic National Park, Lake Crescent, and Riable Beach.
- The activities: From the cabin, you’re minutes from lush hiking trails, exploring the ranch property with animals grazing, fishing and swimming in the river, and great dining, shopping, and sightseeing in nearby towns.
Basically, we were in heaven in this remote riverfront cabin!
However, the only thing to consider before you book is that there is no one on the ranch property with you, so you’ll stay completely alone.
Pros:
- The cabin is well-maintained, beautifully furnished, and immaculate.
- The hosts are very friendly and accommodating and offer complementary goods.
- You can enjoy complete quiet from the location, with lovely river views.
- The patio is ideal for dining/reading/relaxing from its comfy seating.
- There’s free parking, good Wi-Fi, and cell service in the cabin.
Cons:
- The cabin is completely remote on a vast property with no other rental nearby, and you need to drive out a long way in case of emergencies.
Hence, if there’s one cabin you can’t miss for a couple’s getaway, family trip, or solo traveling adventure — it’s the Backwoods Cabin!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a luxury cabin to spend my birthday weekend and came across the stunning Woods Creek Chalet on the Skykomish River. We ended up having a terrific time here, as the stunning rental features chic interiors, breathtaking natural views from its outdoor spaces, and private river frontage.
You’re also close to the Stevens Pass ski area with lush hiking trails, horseback riding, fishing, and river rafting.
And the best part — a jetted 5-person hot tub on the deck with LED lights!
We spent an unforgettable weekend here, spending most of our time cooking homemade meals in the gourmet kitchen, roasting s’mores on the fire pit, lounging on the comfy patio seating and hammock, and returning to the cabin for a cozy night in.
So surprise your loved ones with a trip to this modern Washington cabin, as it’s one of the best secluded rentals. Here’s why you’ll love it:

Furthermore, the cabin is hosted by Joanna, a great host who ensures your stay is relaxing.
One thing to consider before booking is that the neighbors live close to you in nearby rentals, so there isn’t much privacy in the outdoor spaces.
Pros:
- The rental is immaculate, well-appointed, and stocked with all the necessary amenities.
- You can access the river directly from your cabin, plus the entire wooded property.
- The cabin’s basement is a separate studio apartment which you can book for large groups.
- The cabin is pet-friendly,, with a large fenced-in yard for pets to play.
- It can accommodate up to six guests from its two spacious bedrooms and one bath.
Cons:
- There are neighboring rentals near your cabin with guests often staying, so privacy can be an issue.
- Multiple stairs in and around the cabin can be difficult to climb for the elderly or people with mobility issues.
To sum up, if you want to enjoy a quiet cabin in Washington State with all the comforts of home, the Woods Creek Chalet is unmatched!
