Cliff Dweller Treehouse: Spend a Night Suspended from the Ridgeline – Most Private and Unique Experience in Red River Gorge
Source: vrbo.com Cliff Dweller, built by the canopy crew
The Cliff Dwelling was my boyfriend and my favorite treehouse rental due to the uniqueness and stunning views: The canopy crew built the treehouse with a massive floating staircase to get to the first treehouse with a full bathroom, kitchen, and sleeping loft with a queen-sized bed. A spiral staircase takes you to the master bedroom and roof deck.
I loved the peaceful, serene atmosphere of this treehouse. It will make you feel like you are the only two people in the world. Stunning views of the surrounding forest and Daniel Boone National Forest trails are within walking distance.
The Cliff Dweller treehouse is one of the top treehouse rentals for couples in River Gorge. Here are three reasons to rent it now:
- Stunning roof deck with a view: The unique treehouse cabin, built by the canopy crew, is high on the cliffside, suspended in the air, and overlooking the lush forest. You are floating with an unobstructed view of the roof deck.
- Location: The tree house is in the Daniel Boone National Forest near the Red River Gorge Geological Area, Osborne Bend Trail, and Natural Bridge State Park.
- Comforts of home: The interior is comfortable, well planned, and has all the comforts needed for a great stay. The master bedroom is private, with a stunning panoramic view from oversized windows.
The Cliff Dweller is a great vacation option, and we had an amazing time. However, remember there is a floating staircase, walkways, and many stairs. It’s not suitable for those afraid of rights.
Pros:
- Enjoy a romantic stargazing evening on the roof deck.
- Spend time reading in the master bedroom with oversized windows and a panoramic view.
- Visit the Daniel Boone National Forest near the Red River Gorge Geological Area for hiking trails, rock climbing activities, and bird watching.
- Enjoy your morning coffee on the upper deck while swinging on the bench and listening to the birds.

- There are a lot of stairs involved to get to each level, including a floating staircase and floating walkways.
