If there’s one rental everyone needs to visit for a true Louisiana experience — it’s the cabin on Bayou Petite Anse!
My boyfriend and I recently stayed here for a friend’s wedding weekend and had a fantastic time. The spacious cabin has a central location in Acadiana, close to downtown New Iberia and many outdoor activities in French Louisiana.
You’ll love staying in this secluded nature haven, which gives lovely views of the bayou from its balcony, has beautiful themed bedrooms based on nature attractions in Louisiana, and an open kitchen/living area for dining, entertaining, and socializing with your group.
Furthermore, the cabin is hosted by Patti, who’s friendly and hospitable and ensures you have a relaxing stay here.
So make your Louisiana getaway unforgettable with a stay at the cabin on Bayou Petite Anse. Here’s why it’s one of the top secluded rentals:
- The facilities: The cabin is decked with all modern-day amenities, including comfortable bedding and furniture, ensuite baths with complimentary toiletries, a soaking tub, plush sofas in the large living room, a gas fireplace, a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, breakfast bar seating, and a dining area.
- The outdoor space: The cabin has beautiful outdoor spaces, including a front deck and balcony on the back with seating, a spacious backyard, a private dock with outdoor furniture for lounging and dining overlooking the bayou, and adorable boxes on the water for wood ducks to hatch their eggs in.
- The nearby attractions: You’re only minutes from Southern Louisiana’s major attractions, including downtown New Iberia for dining, the Jungle Gardens, which has bird sanctuaries, Rip Van Winkle Gardens with peacocks, tropical gardens, the Tabasco factory, Jefferson Island, and so much more.
Basically, we loved our stay at this waterfront retreat!
And although there were virtually no complaints during our stay, the cabin is just off the highway, so we could hear the noise of passing cars during the day. But the house is secluded enough that it doesn’t intrude on your privacy.
Pros:
- There are kayaks and life jackets for guests to use at the property’s boat launch.
- The cabin has high-speed Wi-Fi, air conditioning, heating, cable, and private parking.
- Alligators, bullfrogs, garfish, and catfish make their way down to the waterway.
- The check-in and check-out process is very easy and smooth, thanks to the host.
- The cabin has homely touches such as snacks, makeup wipes, coffee essentials, and a record player with a jazz library.
Cons:
- You can see and hear passing cars as the highway is nearby.
Hence, your Louisiana trip is incomplete without a stay at this stellar cabin on Bayou Petite Anse!

Little River Bluffs Cabin – Best Secluded Waterfront Cabin in Louisiana
Source: booking.com
My boyfriend and I were looking for a waterfront cabin in Louisiana and came across the lovely Little River Bluffs cabin in Folsom. We had a fantastic time at the cabin’s stunning location on thirty secluded acres surrounded by horse farms and a forest, with extensive frontage on the artesian-fed Tchefuncte River.
You’ll love this homely cabin with a bed-and-breakfast feel featuring a single bedroom, a cozy living room with twin bunk beds for additional sleeping space, a kitchenette, and a screened-in porch overlooking the river — perfect for families and couples.
However, nothing beats the cabin’s private dock steps outside the door! So you can enjoy a plethora of outdoor water activities without ever leaving the property.
Here’s why it’s one of the top secluded cabins in Louisiana:
- The community facilities: You’ll enjoy extensive beachfront access from this cabin, plus a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free bikes, and a swing overlooking a pond. In addition, there’s fishing and canoeing from the property’s private boat dock, with pedal boats and kayaks provided.
- The outdoor activities: There’s a lot you can do on the property, including swimming in the beautiful river, building castles on the snow-white sand bars, trekking on hiking trails through woodland and meadows, fishing from the pond or river, and playing crochet or horseshoes.
- The modern amenities: The air-conditioned cabin has a single bedroom and bathroom, a cozy living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and complimentary amenities including toiletries, towels and bed linens. Whereas outdoors there’s a sun terrace with outdoor seating, a grill, and a hot tub
Furthermore, the cabin is hosted by Blaine and Loretta, terrific hosts who ensure guests have the best time here.
However, we faced minor issues — the bunk beds were too firm and uncomfortable to sleep on, and the swimming pool water was chilly. But not necessarily deal breakers since there was so much more to enjoy!
Pros:
- The cabin is clean, well-maintained, and nicely furnished.
- The hosts are super friendly and accommodating.
- The cabin is a short drive to downtown Covington, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans, with many restaurants, art galleries, and antique shops.
- There’s a spacious yard and a blooming garden outdoors.
- You can spot an array of waterfowl and wildlife along the river bank.
Cons:
- The top bunk was uncomfortable to sleep on.
- The pool water was a bit chilly,
Overall, this is the perfect cabin for families to rent in Louisiana, as it promises a remote nature getaway with endless activities for people of all ages to enjoy.

In addition, the rental has gorgeous interior spaces framed with high ceilings, wood floors, unique touches such as a moose head on the wall, comfy furnishings, a cozy stone fireplace, and many homely decorations.
